| Arriving at the London Mela 2005 you can see the
crowd’s awaiting lineups of major talented artist. There
were people there from all race, cultures, and backgrounds
to enjoy the Mela. There were 2 main stages. The main
purple stage was taken by Sunrise radio, they had artists
such as Malkit Singh, DCS and Raghav. The second was
the BBC Radio 1 stage and this was the most happening
stage at the Mela. There were many stalls around. The
food stalls weren’t just selling traditional Desi food
but also wide ranges of food such as Chinese, Thai etc…people
could also get their Henna done, their make up and if
they really wanted to they could have gone on the rides
or had a go at the games and won themselves a prize.

The first act on BBC1 stage was new
comers Catch 22, giving us some RnB flavas and some
reggae flavas. They really got the crowd pumping, got
people asking for more. In the corner as most people
saw Bobby Friction (BBC Radio 1 Presenter) dancing away
feeling the groves of this new group.

Bobby then introduced the next acts
on stage Rishi Rich’s younger brother yes you guessed
Mentor with the Mentor Kolektiv. He came on stage with
Des-C and AC, DJ Mak was absent as he was in Australia.
He performed a few tracks off his debut album and introduced
2 newcomers to the video one of which is featured in
the Juggy D, ‘Sohniyeh’ video and also a new girl who
can certainly move. Yes the weather didn’t come on our
side towards the end of Mentor’s act but people stayed
there and kept on dancing away.

Up next was the let’s say special guest
from Canada, after performing on the Sunrise Radio stage
made his way quickly to the London Flavas stage to perform.
Yes it was Raghav. He made the crowd go wild especially
the girls he perfomed ‘Bad Bad Bad’ ,’Angel Eyes’ amongst
a few other tracks. Although the weather got really
bad at this point it didn’t stop him from performing
or anyone out there to cheer and sing along with him.

On the Sunrise Radio stage a few legends
were brought out to perform DCS got the golden oldies
grooving and performed a few old tracks amongst with
a few now generation tracks. The Sunrise radio stand
also had artists such as Mona Singh showing off her
vocal singing talents along with her ability to dance.
Another golden oldie group ‘Alaap’ and Punjabi vocalist
himself ‘Malkit Singh’. This stage was more of the mom’s
and dad’s stage kept them entertained whilst the kids
went to the BBC1 Stage.

Back to the London Flavas stage next
on after Raghav was Swami from Evny Records who brought
say a more rock feel to the day people can surely had
start to head bang. And yes he preformed one of the
all time favourite tracks from last year ‘Desi Rock’.

Finally the weather started looking
good and on stage next was Punjabi Hit Squad feat Ms
Scandalous and Aliysa. She sang the Spread Love track
as she does featured on Scandalous’s video. Punjabi
Hit Squad got the crowd hyped.

Last but not least the guy everyone
was waiting for Mr Doh Point Nau man himself ‘Juggy
D’ Mentor came on before to hype the crowd up as soon
as Juggy started to perform everyone was dancing and
singing along with him it was hectic as well as crazy.

After the hype of Juggy Bobby Friction
and Nihal came onstage cracked a few jokes and spinned
a few tracks on the decks people were still dancing
and singing didn’t seem like any one wanted to go home.
Lets say they were certainly not shy.

Brief verdict of the
day it was a very good day with a few ups and downs
of the weather all the acts that were meant to be there
came and it was a brilliant day. No fights just pure
fun.
