1. How do you select the films you
do?
I’ve worked with Abbas Mastan before and
I share a certain comfort level with them.
I like to work with people where we feel comfortable
together. I think that along with the right
story and characters and you’re on the right
path.
2. What first attracted you to Race?
I found the mental health of my character
quite interesting. Its on the verge of psychotic
but not quite!
3. Tell us about the character you
play in Race?
The character is named Rajeev whos the younger
brother. He’s rich and has almost everything
in life but he is angry with a certain aspect
of his life and he just cant get enough of
alcohol – a bad combination…
4. Do you prefer playing good guys
or bad guys?
I like both as long as there is some substance
to it. Somewhere where the character I play
can perform.
5. Were you wary about acting in
a film with so many stars – didn’t you think
your character would be lost?
My character is a pivotal part of the story
so I had no insecurities. The other cast /
characters only add to the story’s scale.
6. Saif did some stunts in the film,
did you?
Yes I’ve also joined in a few sequences…Some
of the car chases we shot live while we had
to drive them like maniacs!
7. Who do you think Race will appeal
to?
I think everyone young at heart should like
Race. It’s a thriller which means it has all
the elements that can thrill you. Its got
a lot of action and adventure as well as emotional
drama to attract the audience.
8. Can you talk a little about the
music?
I like the songs in this film. Like many
other people I like the title track and the
Atif Aslam song. It gels well within the film
and the music adds to the overall atmosphere.
9. Which of the three leading ladies
do you think is the hottest?
I’m a fan of all three as a they’re all so
hot…
10. Do you have to raise your game
when working with so many actors?
Of-course it helps to be working with high
quality performers – specially the likes of
Anil Kapoor. He is one actor I admire immensely
and with him you definitely have to shape
up.
11. You have been in a number of
great thrillers, how much do you enjoy doing
them?
I like them. I find them a little different
and interesting to do than other genres.
12. Can you give a message to your
fans in the UK?
Well I hope you all are liking my films so
far and thank you for all your appreciation
in the recent times. I hope you also like
me in Race.
