1. You’ve never been scared of acting
in multi-starrers, why is that?
I simply go for the project as a whole and
the character that I have to portray. I can’t
do film that don’t enthuse me so whether it’s
a multi-starrer or just me I just do work
I believe in.
2. What first attracted you to Race?
The scale of the film was so huge…I remember
being narrated large action sequences, explosions,
fast cars and I’d picture this amazing adrenalin
ride…I just had to do it! That along with
the story itself its got quite a few twists
and turns which I found very fascinating.
3. Tell us about the character you play in
Race?
My character is a police inspector named
Robert D’costa who people think is more of
an idiot than a law officer. He’s quite a
quirky person with strange habits while going
about solving crime – but ultimately he’s
smart and he knows it!
4. How do you rate Saif and Akshaye
as actors?
Saif is amazing! The guy has come such a
long way in such a short time. He looks the
part and acts with brilliant ease. Akshaye
and I get on like a house on fire! After my
experience with him on Gandh My Father, I’d
work with Akshaye on every film if I could.
I’m very fond of both Akshaye and Saif and
think they’re fantastic actors.
5. Who do you think Race will appeal
to?
Race should appeal to a wide section of the
audience as its essentially a masala film
but packaged in a very slick way. From romance,
to action to thrills and comedy, its got all
the elements of a successful film so I think
all from children to older adults will enjoy
this one.
6. Which of the three leading ladies
do you think is the hottest?
I can tell you but we cant print it! Nooo…I
obviously think they’re all gorgeous but having
worked with Bipasha on No Entry, I think she’s
performed amazingly in this film.
7. Do you prefer doing action films?
Yes I enjoy action film – I wouldn’t say
I prefer…
It’s a change from what I’ve recently been
doing and it also makes me feel alive and
young!
8. Do you have a favourite memory
from the shoot?
I’ve enjoyed the whole shoot but the best
part were the stunts we had to do…it got my
adrenaline going!
9. Why should people go see Race?
It’s got a good looking and very talented
cast and is a paisa wasool type of film…you’ll
not be disappointed. Its got all the ingredients
and thrills to keep you at the edge of your
seat till the very end.
10. Can you give a message to your
fans in the UK?
Well UK is one of my faviourite places and
I enjoy meeting the crowds there. I just want
to thank everyone for the way they have appreciated
my films all these years and I’d urge all
my fans to see RACE – hope you enjoy it.
