1. You have been keeping a relatively
low profile, why is that?
I’ve been focusing on cinema with substance…something
different from the usual.
2. How are you selecting your films?
Last year has been a big change for me personally
and this year will now see a big change in
my career.”. This year’s been a change with
“Kalpurush” which is the Bengali film which
has won the National award, Mira Nair’s intense
film on Aids and the upcoming comedy film
“123”. There is only so long you can be called
a “Siren” – which I don’t want to be all my
life!
3. What attracted you to Race?
Just that the character was so cute yet intelligent
and it was a high profile project to be a
part of.
4. Tell us about the character you
play in Race?
My character is the “bimbo” type assistant
to the police inspector played by Anil Kapoor.
She’s a very wacky personality who wares a
lot of matching clothes, fruity earings, acts
dumb and asks a lot of stupid questions. She’s
actually quite smart and gets what she wants!
5. Can you talk a little about the
music?
The music is quite strong in the film and
works for the film as its also very fast and
punchy.
6. Do you have a favourite memory
from the shoot?
It was just a fun and relaxed shoot…Abaas
Mastan are such chilled out people so in tune
with other.
7. How do the three leading men compare
to each other?
Saif is a fun/masti & laid back kind
of person, Akshaye is more intense, moody
but very very intelligent type of person.
Anil I know from Musafir so it was fun working
with him again.
8. Who do you think Race will appeal
to?
Race is just so fast paced and all the characters
are going for some objective towards the end
of the film. It’s a thriller with a good does
of entertainment and comedy so it should appeal
to all alike. Its essentially a thriller so
people who like this genre should definitely
see it.
9. There are some great stunts in
the film, did you want to get involve with
them?
Yes infact I’ve done a few stunts but obviously
with my character it was a little more limited
that the guys. Its that sort of a film so
you have to get involved and do as much as
possible on screen to make it look real.
10. Have you ever been a race in
real life?
I fortunately don’t drive so much… I cant
handle the streets of Mumbai so try avoid
getting into races
11. What other films can we look
forward to seeing you in?
I’ve just finished work in another film called
123 and have a few other projects lined up.
12. Can you give a message to your
fans in the UK?
Hope you enjoy me in RACE and 123…
