As you all know DesiDesi.com brings you the new
and exclusive highlights of special nights that go on
around the U.K & World Wide. Recently on the 22nd
of December Desi Desi hit the road and were in Birmingham,
in the Oyester Suite, which is on top of the well known
hall the Second City Suite.
We got to the Christmas
ball at near enough 9.00p.m. As we arrived we were greeted
by Star Entertainments own Gurdish. As we entered, all
the seats were taken but no one was on the dance floor.
We went to sit on the V.I.P table obviously were DesiDesi
so we do get that special kind of priviledge. As the
night grew we had the finest indian food that there
was. Which was provided by the Oyeseter Suite. You had
a mix of Aloo tikka, pajiya, spring rolls, meat, dhaal,
naan, dhey and as desert the very best Ice Cream.
As everyone was at the
bar or at the table eating, the Dj on stage was Dj Resham,
he had the longest set of the night where he was doing
his thing.
As the night grew on
about 10.00p.m. - about 10.30.p.m. we had the 1st sign
of people on the dance floor when Dj Resham dropped
Deh Le Geh Ra - By Balbir Boprai & along side Dj
Resham was the famous and well known Dholi Sunny. Once
a few people came on stage then a few more came on.
After about 5 - 10 minutes the whole dance floor was
packed of pure desi strutting their moves. After Deh
leh Gera, Dj sanj - Balle Balle Hogay Mitro Came on,
the dance floor was absolutly packed. As you will see
from the video footage we found it hard going through
the crowd's to film the event, images have also been
taken and will be up soon.
After about a 2 hour
set of Dj Resham & Dholi Sunny he blessed the Mic
and Stage by introducing the one and only Juggy D. He
came on wearing his very famous brown cord jacket with
the Silver Skull on the back of it. As you all know
Juggy D's got his hair back and he kicked off his set
with a Boli. Stirght from his boli the crowed was cheering
Juggy D, Juggy D, Juggy D. The girls were all qued up
at the front of the barriers screaming taking pictures
taking videos on their phones. Then Juggy D's Dholi
came on, Dholi Dips, he played to the beat perfectly
never out of tune, he was full of enthusiasm. He played
dhol for about 15 minutes then Juggy D came back on
stage after a costume change. He wore his famous Chadara
with a black Addidas jacket and hes bright orange chuni
around his neck which Juggy D calls his Urban Desi Look.
Juggy D played the dhol which i have to admit he actualie
played the Chaal which is the beat pretty well. After
that the dholi said to Juggy D - *You Stick to your
singing and pass the drum over to me & ill stick
to doing the dhol*. Once the change happend, Juggy D
came on the mic and was singing with just the Dhol playing
in the background and his voice was amazing. It was
always in beat with dhol never out of tune. After abit
of the boliyan Juggy D went Old School to where it all
started for him to Nahin Jeena Nahin Jeena, the crowed
started dancing again, dance floor was absolutly filled
up, we had Star Entertainments family in the venue which
also included his dad and brother. All of his relatives
dancing on the side by the stage thats how packed it
was. After Juggy D went old school he came back to do
Soniyeh Ni Soniyeh and Billo. He loved the attention
of Desi Desi videoing him and as you will see of the
video footage. That was basically the round up of the
night and to be fair even though it was Christmas only
3 days later the turn out was good. The crowd was mostly
Old mixed with abit of teenagers but some families.
I would like to finish
this of by thanking Elite and Star Entertainment for
having Desi Desi as thier guests to attend this day.
We will hope to cover more occasions that they hold
very soon.
