‘Gig Review’
: : : : : : : : : :

The night started off at 2nd City Suite 100 Sherlock Street, I reached the Venue at around 9.00 P.M where everybody was queuing up to get inside, there was a mad rush of people dieing to see the likes of Dr.Zues, Dj Sanj a.k.a J Nas, Dippa Dosanjh and many more…

As I got into the Venue I was greeted by Honey herself. She congratulated DesiDesi on the winning of the UK Asian Music Awards for the Best Website, so I had to give a big shout out to Harm and the Desi Desi crew for their hard work over the past 2 years.

As the night grew on Dj Rix the owner of Lethal Entertainment, was doing his thing on the decks scratching up all the latest and new Bhangra tunes that are out now. His setup of the whole venue was just amazing, the lighting effects the sounds you had to be there to believe it. The crowed was going ballistic when it all kicked off.

After Dj Rix did his thing, Dj H came on to do his set, his set was full of R‘n’B mixed with Bhangra beats, he blessed the decks up and made the crowd go crazy. He had the crowd going, I could hear the girls screaming from the back. But a SPECIAL EXCLUSIVE TO Desi Desi was that, I had the privilege of hearing the brand new track off Dj Rix’s new album. The tune is going to be a anthem exactly like Das Ja. A big shout to you lot the Dholis did one amazing job keeping up with the track not once off beat.

Straight after him the stage was blessed yet again with the all time greatest Dippa Dosanjh. He kicked off the show with his famous song Nain Preeto De. The crowd yet again showed their love and respect and they went crazy they kept moving the barriers closer and closer. Straight after Dippa came out with his new song on Specialist N Tru Skools album Reprazent called Bhangr’ch, the dholis yet again teared the stage apart and the crowd just loved every second of it.

After the main man Dippa got off stage, Dj Sanj a.k.a J Nas blessed the decks with that special touch that he’s got, kicking it off with the tune Balle Balle Hogay Mitro, the girls were screaming all the guys were pulling off their hottest a slickest bhangra moves. It was just one atmosphere to be in. Then straight into the next tune Dj Sanj a.k.a J Nas scratched up Sara Pind Mitran Da, everyone was still hitting up the dance floor. Then Dj Sanj a.k.a J Nas went old school and played the all time favorite Kodi Ke Kodi Tharke Chuni Da Ole Karke, the crowd went on a high, going for it like it was their last dance. Then all of a sudden Dj Sanj a.k.a J Nas started mixing up the bhangra tunes with R’n’B and trust me his mixes were one of a kind. His set on the decks was one of the best along with the other artist that preformed. Then to finish off he played Mitran Da Haat Phar Ke and Lishkarey Tere Kokkey Da…

Out of no where the main man Dr.Zeus came on the decks hitting it off with a brand new exclusive off his new album, and people watch when this new album drops like Lehmber Hussainpuri’s The original edit he is going to be big on the scene. Zeus went on a next level mixing it up with Sachiyaan by the Legend Lehmber, the crowd was still screaming, ranting and raving. Then Lehmber’s Daru Peeke mele vich jatt nach da came on, all you saw was all the men with their glassiya on the dance floor. Then the dance floor heart breaker came on Captain Bhangre Da I have never seen a crowd go so crazy it was unbelievable. This tune was going and going and just as we thought Zeus’s set was over Tin Cheeja just dropped and even I went crazy over it as your going to see from the video shoot that I took. Then from the streets remix the remix version came on of Tin Cheeja. Then for his last 2 songs to end his set he played his lovely ladies track Rouge – Don’t Be Shy, and all the girls were bumping and grinding to this while Zeus was looking on into the crowd appreciating the fans love then he dropped the final song Kangna… where everyone was singing and dancing to it…

Then the man himself Dj Vix came up to the stage to do his thing with HMC. HMC was representing Desi Desi all night as you will see from the video footage,. DJ Vix kicked of with Hard Kaur’s tune Gangster, the girls were bumping and grinding again. Then Vix went old school to play that song Twerk it baby Twerk it, then he went even more old school to play the track from his album Chit Karda you cannot forget that tune. Becuase it’s a dance floor pure bhangra tune. Along the tunes HMC was doing his thing mcing on the microphone getting the crowd going. Then Vix droped Aj Meh Peeni Ya by PBN and sorry but on the footage you can see I was getting my groove on. Vix was blessing the decks aswell along with all the other Dj’s, and then from Vix’s new album he dropped a track, which I can’t wait to get, it was just pure out of the bhangra industries league. The crowd looked like it never ever stopped dancing or sat down for a drink when Vix dropped Aish by Notorious Jatt, they went mad again. HMC still was doing his thing then Vix finished up on Aish.

For the last act it was all about Punjabi MC, he was on the decks while HMC was still on the microphone doing his thing. As you know PMC hit it off with Mundian Tho Bach Ke and me and the crowd were going for it, pulling out all the bhangra moves showing the love and showing the appreciation. Then Main Hogaya Sharabi came on and, sorry I had no video coverage of this because this tune was my JAM. It smashed the dance floor. Then PMC came out with a remix track just to get the crowd going off the R’n’B beats then he just dropped his new song called Snake Charmer where everyone went silent for a minute because they knew he was bringing out another anthem like Mundian Tho Bach ke. With this song, he was scratching it while HMC was pulling out his MC lyrics on the microphone. You had to be there to believe what went on. When snake charmer came on the crowd just gave it their all, and started shouting out, PMC, PMC, PMC, HO, HO, HO. Watch out when Snake Charmer gets released it will be on the bhangra scene.

That was the end of the night for this Xmas Dinner & Dance but overall it was a wicked and entertaining night.
